What is a ZI file (a file with file extension ZI)?
Files that contain the .zi file extension are most commonly used for compressed archive files. When a user wants to take a large batch of files or a larger file and compress the file or files into a smaller file archive, the ZIP file format is used.
The files with the .zi file extension are files that have been renamed from the .zip file extension to the .zi file extension. This is usually done to bypass email and Internet security features that intercept the transmission of ZIP archive files. This allows a user to receive a ZIP file via email without it ending up in the user's spam folder.
