Files that contain the .trashninfo file extension are most commonly associated with metadata files that have been placed into a computer user's trash storage when a user deletes the associated file.
The TRASHINFO files are usually created by computers that are running on a Linux-based operating systems. If a user accidentally deletes a file running on a Linux application, they can access the trash storage to retrieve the file and restore it to its original location.
