What is a CD file (a file with file extension CD)?
Files that contain the .cd file extension are most commonly associated with copies of CDs that have been saved to a user's computer hard drive. These CD files contain an exact copy of the data that can be found on the original CD. The data in the CD file is saved in the CD-i file format. Sometimes these files are illegal copies of files that have been "borrowed" and copied to a user's hard drive while some of the CD files are legitimate files that contain backups of a CD that a computer user owns.
The .cd file extension is also used by the Philips/Optlmage's Master software application. These CD files contain the tool files that are used by the program.
